Ambassador Mbuyisa Presents Working Copies of Credentials in Spain
On 31 July 2026, Her Excellency Thandazile Mbuyisa presented the working copies of her Letters of Credence to Ms Irina Sanchís-Vives, Deputy Head of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain.
The presentation of the working copies represents an important procedural step towards the formal accreditation of Ambassador Mbuyisa as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Eswatini to the Kingdom of Spain. It also marks a significant milestone in the continued strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which share cordial ties founded on mutual respect and cooperation.

During her visit, Ambassador Mbuyisa also held a meeting with Mrs Amaya Fuentes Milani, Adviser to the Deputy Director of the Africa Department. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the state of bilateral relations and to consider areas in which cooperation between Eswatini and Spain could be further developed.
Discussions focused on strengthening political and diplomatic engagement, expanding trade and investment relations, and exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including labour mobility, sport and cultural affairs.
The engagements reaffirmed the Kingdom of Eswatini’s commitment to deepening its relations with Spain and advancing practical partnerships that contribute to economic development, institutional cooperation and stronger people-to-people ties.
Following the presentation of the working copies of her Letters of Credence, Ambassador Mbuyisa is able to fully undertake her diplomatic duties in Spain. She will, however, return to Spain at a later date to formally present her Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Felipe VI, King of Spain.
