Repatriation of Remains

The High Commission assists families with the repatriation of deceased Emaswati to Eswatini.

Required Documents

• Death Certificate.
• Eswatini Passport and National ID Card of the deceased.
• Authorisation letter from the next of kin in Eswatini.
• Passport and ID of the authorised family representative.
• Details of the funeral parlour managing the repatriation.
• Consent letter from the deceased’s Umphakatsi (Royal Kraal).
• Permit under Section 4, Chapter 90 (Conveyance of Dead Bodies) — issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
• Consent from the spouse (if applicable).
