Child Registration
Registering a child is the first step in ensuring legal identity and access to essential documentation such as birth certificates and passports.
Process and Requirements
- Obtain an Acknowledgment of Birth Certificate from the country of birth.
- For non-English documents, provide a certified English translation.
- Registration can be conducted remotely by booking a telephone appointment with the Consular Section.
- Submit copies of both parents’ Eswatini Birth Certificates and National ID Cards.
- Children under 6 weeks qualify for free registration.
- For children over 6 weeks, a processing fee of E300 applies.
- Complete a Late Birth Registration Affidavit (available upon request).
- Include an application letter addressed to:
The National Civil Registrar, Ministry of Home Affairs, P.O. Box 432, Mbabane, Eswatini.
➡️ Once the birth is registered, parents may proceed with a passport application for the child.
