Permission to Marry Outside Eswatini

Citizens of Eswatini wishing to marry abroad must obtain official permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs before their marriage can be legally recognised in Eswatini.

Requirements

1. Application letter from the applicant.
2. Letter from parents or guardians confirming and permitting the applicant’s marital status.
3. Marriage declaration form, completed and stamped by the applicant’s Umphakatsi (Royal Kraal).
4. Certified copy of the applicant’s National ID.
5. Certified copy of the fiancé’s National ID.
6. Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ National IDs.

📎 All completed documentation should be submitted to the Consular Section for onward transmission to the Ministry of Home Affairs in Eswatini for approval.
